British Idioms

منذ ٦ أعوام
The English language is very diverse, and each variety has its own unique characteristics. I was reading an article and was shocked to find these idioms are only used in Britain.

1. Pop one’s clogs - an euphemism for dying

2. That went down a treat - if something goes down a treat, then it was thoroughly enjoyed.

3. Take the mickey - Brits love to make fun of and tease each other and that’s exactly what ‘taking the mickey’ means. You can also say ‘take the mick.’

There are a few more that I will share later, but I was curious to see if anybody (who's not British) had heard of these, or whether people from other English speaking countries do indeed use these idioms.
