Do you think most people in your country work to live or live to work? 💰 💰 💰

Do we work for the money or are our jobs more than just a way to pay our bills?

I think in Australia, many people work for the weekend, they work hard all week (Monday to Friday) and then catch up on sleep and have fun all weekend, it's so bad that people dread Mondays (just like Garfield!) because they want to relax more BUT, they have to work to pay the bills.

I have a very good work-life balance but I'm one of the lucky ones who love their jobs! I work for 3-4 hours EVERY DAY and then I have the rest of my day to do more things I love doing, like hiking, surfing/stand up paddle boarding and reading... My job is more than just a way to pay the bills

I am also studying a bachelor degree online and I need to find time to do this. However, everything in my life is so flexible it is easy to find 45 minutes to watch a lecture or read a chapter in my text book. I'm really grateful tat I can do this because many people do not have this opportunity.

My work is definitely more than a job, it's a passion of mine, I love learning and doing new things and I also love teaching and helping others learn new things... My job also allows me to travel and meet new people which is a great perk of the job.

catch up on [phrasal verb] = to do things which you should have done earlier
dread [adjective] = when you worry, fear or are apprehensive of something
work-life balance [noun] = when you have enough time to do the things you love, but also earn enough money to live a good life.
perk [noun] = benefit of a job or career

What about you, do you work for the weekend, are you just working to earn a salary and pay your bills? or is your job more than a job, does it allow you to do the things you love?
