日本語が難しい5つの理由 / 5reasons why Japanese is difficult

  1. Kanji
Japanese people use Kanji as normal. but It is so hard for foreigners. Japanese people start learning Kanji day by day since they are kid. Japanese people grow up with Environment of using Kanji. That`s why they can guess meaning.

However, Foreigners never grow up as Japanese. Japanese is second language for them. Of course leaning Kanji can be so hard for them.

Leaning Kanji take a time and not easy. although important things to learn Kanji are day by day, understanding meaning and stroke order.

  1. Particle
There are many Japanese learners who are beginning. They are always struggle to understand words connection. "が”?”は”?/ "に”と”で”へ” etc. Particle is so complicate to teach and make student understand clearly. because there is no answer.

For example 「私が思うに~です」を「私“は”思うに~です」
If somebody ask what is difference between those? It is so hard to answer. Japanese people remember particle + verb that natural and best way to learn.

  1. Honorific
Honorific is hard part of learning Japanese for foreigner. There is polite language in English, Spanish, French. However they do not have as polite as Japanese. Even Japanese people sometimes are struggle to speak honorific naturally.

For example, 「行きます」,「お伺いいたします」
Those are same meaning. However foreigner understand 「行きます」and do not understand 「お伺いいたします」.

  1. ニュアンス
日本語には他の言葉に訳す事のできない微妙なニュアンスの言葉が多いです。「よろしくお願いします」、「恐れ入ります」、「お邪魔します」、「お疲れさま」などは、長く日本に住んで実際に何度も耳にしないとなかなか使い方が分からないのです。

  1. Nuance
Japanese has so many words which can not translate to other language perfectly.
For example, 「よろしくお願いします」、「恐れ入ります」、「お邪魔します」、「お疲れさま」etc. It is so hard to understand how to use without living in Japan or listening so many times.

  1. カタカナ語
日本には日本語英語もたくさんあります。カタカナになっている言葉もたくさんありますが、全てが英語から来た言葉ではないし、本来の意味とは違った意味で使われている言葉が多く、外国人にとってそれらを把握するのは至難の業なのです。

  1. Katakana Language
Japanese has many "katakana language”. Japanese people believe "katakana language” is easy to learn for foreigner. because It is from oversea.
However "katakana language” is completely different as foreign language and totally new language for foreigner.
