Thấy and Nghe thấy. What is the difference between them?

Maybe you all have encountered these words in Vietnamese language. So what is the difference between Thấy and Nghe Thấy? I will explain as followings:
Thấy means to see in English = To see. For example:
Tôi thấy anh ấy hôm qua. = I saw him yesterday.
Tôi thấy một xe hơi/ xe ô tô ở trên phố. = I saw a car on the street.
So the word Thấy here just simply means: To see
But it’s not simple like that. Like in English language, the word To SEE has more than 1 meaning. For example:
I saw a dog on the street yesterday.
The SEE in this sentence will be different from the word SEE in the answer:
A: Mr. James Bond is a famous spy and James Bond film is very famous in the world.
B: I see.
The word SEE in the second example means: I understand; I can catch up with what you are talking about.
So in Vietnamese language, when you see THẤY alone, the meaning of THẤY here has the same meaning of TO SEE in the first example of English sentence.
When THẤY goes after another verbs like:
Nghe thấy/ hiểu thấy/ cảm thấy/ làm thấy/ nhìn thấy. The meaning of these combinations will change and more complicated. Please come back to my next discussion to understand completely about this topic.
