Do you read in your native language or are you trying to read in your target language?
Do you read some books in your native language and some books in your target language?
I'm really into my non-fiction these days. History, philosophy, biography of historical people. I find I learn so much from non-fiction. I mostly read in my native language English, but I am making time to read in my second language, which is Spanish, and I attempt to read high level material in that language.
TIP:
It is important to write down words that you are unfamiliar with and look them up in a dictionary.
Reading is one of the best ways to fast-track your language knowledge. And it can also provide entertainment and help you to improve your mind and give you solutions to your daily life problems.
Even Spiderman is reading. He's probably reading the History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
