Hello! My name is Paul Schmidt. I am a passionate language learner and teacher. I just finished an MA in Hispanic Literatures at Brigham Young University, where I previously obtained a BA in Spanish and German Studies, with a minor in Japanese. I have taught beginner-intermediate-level university Spanish classes for five semesters while a graduate student at BYU. My teaching style is very personal, interactive and adaptable. I very much enjoy sharing my knowledge of languages and imparting skills and strategies to help others gain the same passion and dedication that I have developed since the first time I ever started to learn a foreign language in an "Intro to Spanish" class I took in 8th grade in 1995. I have generally been a strong proponent of traditional classroom language instruction, yet have since been introduced to the unique learning atmosphere of online teaching environments and particularly the plethora of technology available to assist and greatly enhance learning and communication. Although I do not have any experience with online teaching, I am familiar with mainstream technology and have used technology in the classroom. I am very excited to start teaching!
