Hi there!
My name is Iselin and I am originally from Germany, but grew up in New Zealand. I am 27 years old and have been an English teacher since 2018. I completed my CELTA teaching certificate in Auckland, New Zealand and have worked as an English teacher in New Zealand, Vietnam, Germany and Spain since then.
I am a very open-minded, patient, understanding and friendly person who has a genuine passion for teaching English and always curious to learn about new cultures. I know what it is like to learn a foreign language as it can be quite daunting. But I am always encouraging my students to be more confident and will help you get the level you want or need in English. My teaching approach also reflects this as I always create lessons that suit the students. After all, it is their lesson.
I am a qualified CELTA English teacher and am currently in Berlin, Germany teaching young adults and adults. Due to the current situation, I am teaching my classes online so am familiar with the classroom and online classroom environment.
I teach General English, business English, young adult programmes and IELTS and FCE exam preparation courses. I always create engaging and fun lessons for my students as I always want them to feel motivated to improve their skills in English and also relate it to their daily lives.
I started teaching in 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand at a language school, immediately after completing my CELTA course. After this, I moved to Hanoi, Vietnam for a few months to continue teaching general English there to university students and high school students. I also got placed in a company where I taught the employees business English at B1 level.
After Vietnam, I went back to Berlin, where I am originally from and continued working as an English teacher in a smaller language institute. This was mostly one-to-one classes with adults or smaller groups of 2. We worked with authentic materials and practiced a lot of conversation skills and business English.
