Lisa, born near Chicago, Illinois, began her journey abroad teaching ESL in South Korea and later moved to Taipei, Taiwan where she had the pleasure of teaching Business English to individuals in both the private (Mercedes Benz, Yahoo!, MediaTek) and public sectors. She believes that her work experience in East Asia and paternal family’s Filipino heritage has given her a unique insight into the challenges and strengths many clients face while mastering the English language. Her cultural sensitivity and curiosity, paired with her ability to quickly cultivate rapport with her students makes her an effective and enjoyable Business English coach. Lisa's teaching philosophy revolves around creating an open and honest dialogue with her students in order to identify and answer all of the student’s questions and concerns, whether they are cultural, linguistic, or purely business-related.
