Hello, my name is Kathryn Coppola. I'm a down to Earth New Zealander living in France with my family.
I've been teaching for 12 years now: 7 years in primary schools and 5 years teaching English adults. I'm currently a self employed English teacher, mainly for adults.
Throughout my vast and growing experience, I've found that the two most effective and important aspects to teaching anything, are to make it real and to build confidence. We'll build your confidence by communicating about your interests, abilities, work (if you want to), experiences and current events. If you have something you need to prepare for, we can work on that too.
In short, we'll improve your:
- Conversational English
- Listening skills
- Understanding phrases and idioms
- Writing (if need be)
- Grammar (in authentic contexts only)
I have two qualifications from New Zealand: a Bachelor's Degree in Contemporary Music (major: drums); and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary). I also have a TEFL qualification from UK TEFL.
Rest assured that you'll be respected and your confidence in communicating English will only grow if you work with me.
ps. I've tried several times to upload my TEFL certificate, but it hasn't worked. Perhaps I could email it to you? I'll also ask my boss at Berlitz to write a reference for me, incase what I've provided isn't enough. You'll also see that I have plenty of experience teaching EFL, yet unfortunately I don't have any online experience. I've certainly attended some tutorials on how to do it since Coronovirus has taken us into lockdown.
