Spencer here. I am an easy going guy with lots of interests and hobbies that include, rock climbing, traveling, running, teaching, being outside and meeting new people. I am outgoing, kind and caring towards people I meet and spend time with. I enjoying talking and getting to know people as well as sharing my own experiences about my interests.
My educational background includes an Honors Diploma from Dallas High School, a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Spanish from Boise State University. I also posses a Teach English as a Foreign Language Certificate (TEFL) .
My professional education work starts after college when I worked at the School of Urban and Wilderness survival as an outdoor guide for at risk youth. I then transitioned to work as a program guide at an in patient treatment center for at risk youth teaching farming/mental health coping skills. I also have taught at an after school English Teaching Academy in China.
My teaching style revolves around an introduction that is fun and engaging where the student has the opportunity to warm up and feel safe and comfortable. Then I slowly add language concepts that become more complex until the student can move from single nouns and verbs to a full sentence to a question and response. I often will correct students if the pronunciation or sentence structure is wrong, so that they can practice perfectly in a controlled environment. .
