I am a Certified Online Educator and I earned my Master of Education degree in Educational Technology from the University of Missouri in May 2018, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, I am a certified TESOL Instructor through the TESOL International Association in both Foundation and Advanced Online Instruction. I've been an Online ESL Instructor since September 2017 and have taught over 3,000 classes, maintaining a perfect five-star feedback rating. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Counselor Certification from Montana State University, and I taught Developmental and Social Psychology at the University of Montana during my Ph.D. studies.
My personal teaching philosophy stems from my own experience as a life-long learner, as well as an instructor. I believe that learning should be meaningful, rewarding, and enjoyable. When course content is interesting, relevant, and applicable to the learner's daily life, it is more easily retained and recalled, and the learning becomes ingrained and meaningful. My teaching style is never punitive; I believe in positive reinforcement. I make learning fun and memorable, which increases student motivation, engagement, and outcomes.
