Hi, I am Heather, an American living in Italy and teaching English. I spent more than 15 years support the international community through missions and reporting, and now I am bringing my specialized experience to teaching English for the international community. My degree is in English from George Mason university, and I received my TOEFL certification here in Florence. I speak intermediate Italian, which I believe has made me a better teacher, because I know from personal experience how challenging it is to learn a new language. I believe in shaping the lesson style to suit the student and their needs. For me, language is more than grammar, vocabulary or memorized lists. It is a window into a new culture, and an exciting adventure to share with my students.
