Saving textpad as pdf omits highlighting

Hello I hope the textpad feature can be improved so that when I add highlighting to words and sentences that highlighting is not removed when I save as a pdf.  Is there a reason the save as pdf omits all highlighting?  I like to highlight certain phrases to make them stand out.
