Über Mich

Hello and welcome to my Verbling profile! I'm from Los Angeles, California in the US. I currently live in Taiwan where I've been for the last few years, learning Mandarin Chinese, acquiring my Masters in Business Administration, working in different industries, and where I've also taught English for over six years (mostly part-time). I love language learning and teaching!

My hobbies are competitive cycling, hiking, running, and pretty much just enjoying the outdoors, especially on a sunny day with blue skies.

I have five years of experience Teaching conversational English, have two years of Experience editing dissertations and academic journals for professors, and have also taught children. I have a TESOL teaching certificate, a bachelor's degree in finance, and a masters degree in business. Additionally, I have worked in business in Taiwan for three years and have experience in the manufacturing industry (CNC), finance, and marketing (all in Taiwan).

I can teach grammar, conversation, business, test taking such as TOEFL and IELTS. I do this using a variety of tools and materials, including a wide range of resources I have which allow me to teach using PowerPoint-style presentations, with interactive whiteboard. I can offer video recordings of lessons, audio recordings of lessons, full lesson notes for the student's records and for the all-important review component of English learning.

My students describe me as "likable, having good cultural competence, being good at adjusting for students, friendly, and very patient with adults and children alike".
