My background is a mix of languages, countries and teaching experiences. I was born and raised in a tiny Italian village on the Adriatic coast and studied Foreign Languages in the city of Ferrara. After my B.A., I moved to Germany, where - among others - I studied an M.A degree in Literature, worked as an Italian teacher, tour guide and interpreter. My next job took me to London, UK, where I spent six years working in research and higher education. Since 2016, I have been living in wonderful Palestine, working as a German teacher at the Goethe-Institut and as an English trainer for several organizations.
I can teach Italian, English and German (I am a certified examiner for Goethe-Institut exams).
What I offer:
- communication classes (A1 - A2): My focus is on speaking. Therefore, I will hand over the floor to you and lead you to use the language as much as possible. I will provide grammar and vocabulary worksheets as well as listening exercises from different internet sources; these will serve as a base for free communication such as expressing your opinion on a given topic, making your own examples and sentences, etc.
- conversational classes (B - C): Depending on your interests, I will send you short articles, stories, book excerpts to read beforehand. During the class, we will freely discuss the readings, make a summary and clarify or practise any grammar as needed.
- tailored courses: If you have any specific area you wish to improve in (writing, business Italian, etc.), we can discuss an appropriate curriculum.
Before being a teacher, I am a learner of all things language and literature. My interests range from history to journalism, from blogging to cats, from creative writing to food. In my lessons, I tend to go with the flow - both because I like good conversations and because I believe that an authentic chat is more valuable than any book exercise.
