My name is Mariana, I am a southern native Brazilian and I started teaching Portuguese in 2017 while I was living in Ireland. I taught Portuguese for beginners and it was an amazing experience.
My mom is a teacher since I know myself as a person (Desde que me conheço por gente), and I taught kids for about a year before I start college. So, I can say that teaching is in my blood :))
I graduated recently in International Relations and I am now searching for a Master. This resumes my passion for learning languages. I speak Portuguese (native), English(fluent), Italian (intermediary B2), Spanish (Intermediary B2) and I am currently starting to learn German.

The main question before you start learning a new language is to ask yourself:
1 - Why? why would I like to learn Portuguese? traveling, studying...

I say it because usually, we need some purpose to what we do in life. We need to establish goals, otherwise, you will not pass through the stage of being familiar with a language to a stage of knowing and dominating a language.
I have a lot of tips that will make you understand better Portuguese and some advice on how to improve your skills (apps, books and programs).
I think learning is a process, it is not something that happens from night to day (da noite pro dia), you have to first be patient with yourself, and more importantly, ENJOY learning the language, enjoy knowing about the culture and being in contact with it. I am here to help you develop your skills further on your own time and make learning Portuguese enjoyable for you.

How our classes will be:
1- In the first class we will have a chat to break the ice, see your communication level and talk about your expectation with our classes. After that, I will provide you with a test in which I will be able to check your level of Portuguese.
2- We will establish the focus of our classes depending on your own needs and build the lessons together.
3 -I will always send you extra activities and give you tips, introducing to you new methods of learning as well as supporting you in your needs.
