Hi! My name is Lola, -a typical Spanish name- and I define myself as a lover of my profession. I finished my studies in Hispanic Philology in 2008. That same year, I came into contact first time with teaching Spanish by taking part of an initial training course for teachers of Spanish organised by Instituto Cervantes. From then I started to specialise on teaching Spanish, firstly studying an Official Master in 'training for teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language' in Universidad Pablo de Olavide. Later I did a course in 'Specialist in Teaching Spanish for business' in Universidad Complutense in Madrid and I became a DELE accredited examiners of Instituto Cervantes after finishing all the official courses of Instituto Cervantes.
I started my work as a teacher of Spanish in different language schools in Sevilla (2011-2012) and Poland (2013). After this I was an assistant teacher University Eötvös Loránd in Budapest (2013-2015) where I taught different courses of Spanish and the subject 'Literature in Language teaching' in the Official Master in 'training for teachers of Spanish'. On the other hand, I have been coordinator and teacher of literary workshops in Instituto Cervantes in Budapest. since 2016, I work and live in Granada. Here I have worked in different schools, but I am currently a Spanish teacher at the University of Granada, at Center for Modern Languages.
The method I use in class is the communicative method. This method consists in learning all the contents in context and proacting them in a real communication. Normally, through an own material or a manual of Spanish or both, depends on the level of the student and the communicative objective of the session, I usually present communicative target -which can be grammatical, socicultural, pragmatic, functional , phonetic or lexical- to the student with many examples IN CONTEXT so that the student can only discover - evidently with my help - how that objective works. From the discovery proccess, we do a semi-controlled practice, that is, in a context similar to the previous activity, the student must put that objective into practice. Once the student has mastered the operation, we began to practice that objective freely. As you see, in a session there is formal reflection and free practice.
I also give conversation classes where I work focusing on the practice of vocabulary and student fluency.
For me, a good teacher should be a ' fellow traveler' who walks beside the student to lead him by his discovery of this wonderful language: the Spanish.
