I am new to TEFL teaching having recently just gained my online 168-hour TEFL course (having qualified in March 2020). I am enthusiastic to put my new found skills and qualifications to good use and start teaching. I am learning Spanish myself and think that learning a language is one of the most challenging and rewarding things you can do!
I like to listen to my students and encourage them to use the target language as much as possible, guiding them to seek and recognise errors and helping them to use the language as they need to use it. I will assess the level of my students and listen clearly to their goals, which we will re-assess regularly to ensure I am delivering the lessons they want. I want to create a fun and safe environment, creating a good rapport with my student so they are comfortable in exploring, enjoying and using the language as much as possible.
My background is in the leisure industry business, having been a Head of Service for a large leisure operator in London. I have a BSc Degree in Sport Science having graduated from St Mary's University in Twickenham in 2000.
