Über Mich
* Video made in English (00:00–01:17) and German (01:18–02:49)! *
Hello, dear German learners!
I'm Yasemin, a native German speaker born and raised in Germany but currently based in England. I'm a self-employed German academic editor, content writer, and online teacher with experience in exam preparation (Goethe and telc certificates) for all levels (A1 to C2), business German, and daily use conversation.
I've been teaching German for the past nine years in Germany, Spain, Turkey, England, and also online. In my experience, motivation and a clear structure are all you need to learn a new language.
1) How am I going to help you?
In our first conversation, we'll find out what you'd like to achieve and how to do that in the best way possible. Depending on your goals and your level of German, I suggest a learning plan tailored to your needs.
In general, all lessons are built on each other, but there's always room for flexibility. We'll make use of different learning materials, such as texts, exercises, games, videos, and music, depending on what you want to focus on (e.g., speaking, listening, reading, and/or writing).
In addition, I'll provide you with exercises you can work on between our lessons. Throughout your learning journey, I'll evaluate your learning progress and help you proceed.
2) What do you need?
You don't have to worry about any learning materials. I'll provide you with all the resources that we'll use. However, if there's any material you'd like to use, feel free to share it with me. Other than that, make sure you can have our lessons in a quiet place with a stable internet connection.
3) What is Verbling's cancellation policy?
Please note that if you can't attend a lesson, you've got the option to reschedule it more than 12 hours in advance of the lesson's start time.
If you prefer to cancel a lesson, you'll receive a 100% refund more than 12 hours in advance of the lesson's start time or a 50% refund within 12 hours of the lesson's start time.
If you miss a lesson without prior notice, you'll be fully charged. This also applies if you join your lesson late or face technical difficulties. Please always make sure that your internet connection is stable and that both your camera and microphone work well.
However, I understand that anyone can miss a lesson due to unforeseen circumstances or emergencies. If you believe that this is the case, don't hesitate to let me know.
4) What else do you need to know?
- Please be aware that one lesson lasts for 55 minutes due to consecutive lessons. If you'd like to have lessons of only 30 minutes (which will last for 25 minutes, consequently), please send me a message, and I'll adjust the price accordingly.
- When booking a lesson for the first time, please let me know your current level of German. That helps me prepare our lesson beforehand.
- Please be aware that I do not teach minors online. You must be at least 18 years old.
- You can contact me anytime if you have further questions.
Sounds good? Great, let's get it started! :-)
