I'm Alejandra Rodríguez, private Spanish tutor. I was born in Bogotá (Colombia) and raised in the Canary Islands (Spain). I've been passionate about languages from a very young age. I studied English Philology, at Universidad Complutense of Madrid, and I hold a Master's degree in North American Studies by the same university and the Institute Benjamin Franklin (University of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid). I have had the incredible opportunity to work with people from all over the world, and I have had the privilege to teach English in Spain for almost 5 years. After teaching English for some time, I realized that there was an increasing demand from English speakers to learn Spanish. That is when I started to develop and impart Spanish lessons for foreigners, specifically from English speaking countries. Having the benefit of speaking both languages, the qualifications as well as the experience helped me to realize and understand the difficulties that English speakers face when it comes to learning Spanish, especially those who are beginning their journey into the language. The experience of having been a student of a language from a very young age has also been crucial to me as a private tutor, as I have been able to relate and try different methods to learn a language successfully. I deeply enjoy teaching Spanish and I also love learning from my students!
My Spanish lessons are completely adapted to your needs, either if you are starting to learn the language, or if you already have an advanced level and want to get to the next one. My methods are interactive, conversation-based, and with an emphasis on putting all the grammar and vocabulary learned into practice. I hope you enjoy your journey into Spanish as much as I do!
