Hello, and thank you for considering me on your English-learning journey! I teach adults who are of intermediate-advanced level. I do not teach beginners, sorry about that! (It's just because I haven't had the right training for that). My teaching style is relaxed, patient, and engaging. I make lessons comfortable and interesting for students, but I will also correct your mistakes and challenge you. I respect each student's learning style and can adapt to suit different goals and interests. I believe in a natural, simple approach to improving English ability. For example, if you are worried about an upcoming conversation with your new boss, I will take the role of your boss and we will practice that conversation until you feel confident with it. My classes are usually conversation-based. I don't give lecture classes, and I don't have a curriculum or syllabus, but I always end up talking about grammar, idioms, vocabulary, and pronunciation in the process of having a conversation with students. If you have something specific you need to prepare for, such as an upcoming interview or presentation, I can definitely help you with that! I am also happy to answer any questions you have about material you are learning in other English classes or by yourself, and help with document editing/proofreading. I have a lot of travel experience, especially in Asia, Europe, and Mexico, which has made me comfortable relating to all kinds of people. I enjoy getting to know my students' personalities and cultures, and inspiring them to reach for their dreams! A little about me and my interests: I love reading, writing, philosophy, animals, and music (I play violin). I'm currently living a nomadic life, traveling to a different country every 3 months. All the best! -Sylvie

If you have little free time, but you find you're struggling to speak English, can't express yourself properly, and you're feeling frustrated. Come on over, and discover that Online English language learning with me can be a great solution and whole lot of fun! I'm an enthusiastic, fun loving, British, TEFL qualified English language teacher who has been working in several primary schools in and around London, England. Since September, I have been teaching online and enjoy the flexibility, mainly working with students from France, Italy and Spain as I'm a fluent French speaker. I am currently teaching students of varying abilities online with the focus on improving fluency, pronunciation, confidence and flow. When you sign up for your trial lesson, I will send you an English level test which will help us know which areas we need to focus on and where your repeated errors are. I take immense pleasure in personalising each lesson and get tremendous joy helping students to improve their English skills in a relaxed environment. Language learning naturally flows better if everyone involved is relaxed; this is what I strive for with my lessons: they are well structured, stimulating, lively; enjoyable and customised to your needs. To help you solidify what you have learned after each lesson, I have a homework verification system in place, which is quick and efficient in measuring your progress. Click on my video introduction to see how to get started. See you soon.

I'm a professional English teacher. I have a TEFL qualification and I have been teaching since 1999. My career started in Japan where I was a conversational English teacher. Within a year I had become the headmaster of a private English school serving 400 students. In 2014 I returned to the UK where I established an online presence. In 2016 I became an MBA consultant preparing students for the rigorous admissions test and interview. If you are preparing for the VIVA interview, I can help with that too. I'm a published author with many years experience proofreading. I'd be happy to have a look at your essays. I am very patient, and you can ask me all the questions you want, as many times as you want, until you understand very well. Let me know what you need and how I can help you, and I will be here for you. I will do my best to help you achieve your goals of becoming fluent in English. I'll introduce a bit more information about me. I am British and I live in Bournemouth. I'm a B1 speaker of Japanese. After a career in the civil service in England, I travelled to New Zealand where I resided for 8 years. I attended university there and studied computer science at Massey University. In New Zealand and then moved into the private sector where I gained experience in the technology market and the insurance industry. In 1998, I resumed my education and took a CELTA course to pursue a dream of teaching English in Japan. After gaining some experience in a school in Saitama, I opened my own schools in Chiba and Tokyo and became a registered Japanese corporation. I employed 10 Japanese support staff and several foreign teachers. I ran those schools for 16 years and taught hundreds of students of all ages and levels. In my downtime, I like to watch movies and read books. I’m the author of the book Fluency Secrets and I’m writing some new books on English language study. I love mountain biking, running and swimming. One day I would like to do a triathlon. See you online!

* Dear current students. You'll notice that there aren't many available spaces left to book more classes on my calendar in June and the first week of July. I'm presenting at various conferences in this period which means there are several working days where I won't be teaching as normal (so these are not green on my calendar). Apologies if this makes it difficult to find spaces to book more classes and any delay this causes to your study programmes! I hope you can still find spaces on the days I still have available. Let me know if you have any problems. All bookings already made throughout this period will obviously go ahead as planned. I will be back to normal full working hours from the second week of July on. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about this. I look forward to seeing you next class! Many thanks. Matthew I am a fully qualified English Teacher from Bristol, England. I hold a Masters with Distinction in History from the University of Birmingham. Prior to this I received full training and certification as a teacher in the UK. I've been teaching for years and I really love it. During my career I've gained lots of experience with all types of students and levels. I've had students who don't know the days of the week all the way up to students studying for the Cambridge Proficiency Exam. Presently I specialise in the intermediate and advanced levels, helping students to gain certificates to enable them to study at universities or for professional purposes. Whatever the exact level of the student, my general approach is more or less the same. I am able to quickly ascertain a student's capability from a short conversation and use this to design a tailor-made plan of study. Depending on the needs of the student, this could include specific areas of grammar that need work or aspects of writing skills. Classes are heavily based in conversation practice and correction, with the necessary study elements taught at different points during the 60 minute talk. In this way, subjects can be covered with speed, with concise follow-up homework tasks reaffirming this knowledge gained in class - then ready for revision in the following session. My approach attempts to avoid the burden of language study with short, focused tasks as part of dynamic sessions. The combination of this with a tailor-made package of study enables the student to progress much more rapidly than in traditional group study. Furthermore, such a technique is particularly useful for online 1-on-1 learning, an area I have been working in exclusively for the last 3 years, delivering over 2,500 sessions! Finally, I strongly believe that students need to be relaxed and enjoying themselves to get the most from sessions. I endeavour to achieve this as a teacher by ensuring a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and through this, delivering dynamic and engaging sessions, pushing the student to achieve their full potential improve rapidly. Get in touch and we can work together to create a programme of learning that works for you and sees you progress with speed!

Hello! If you want to speak English with confidence, fluency, and skill, then you've come to the right place. My name is Cody. I'm a native English-speaker from California. My lessons are based on conversational practice. I correct and explain every mistake in grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary, thus allowing students to eliminate bad habits more efficiently. When students make a recurring mistake, I ask them to identify it without directly pointing it out to them. Having learned Russian, French, Spanish, and German, I know from experience that language learning is primarily an active rather than passive process. There's no shortcut to fluency, but regular, disciplined speaking practice - with close attention to avoiding past mistakes - will get you there sooner. I do not teach children. If a student reschedules a trial lesson more than once, the lesson is cancelled. The lesson cannot be rescheduled less than 12 hours ahead, but the student can cancel it to receive 50% of the payment back. If a student is late and does not write me ahead of time, I will wait no longer than 15 minutes. If the student appears and writes me before the end of the lesson time but after I've already ended the lesson, I will return 50% of the payment. I can't wait to accompany you on your path to English fluency! See you soon!
