À propos de moi

Hi I'm Declan, and I'm from Ireland. I've been teaching English for over 10 years to adult learners from all over the world in both China and Europe. I am both CELTA and TEFL certified and have an honors degree in English Literature and a Masters in Applied Linguistics. I have a second Masters in Chinese and Business. I have a lot of experience preparing students for the IELTS and Cambridge exams. I have also thought EAP (English for Academic Purposes) in an Irish University to international students. I currently work with corporate clients focused on Business English.
I am a communicative teacher. I believe that learners need to speak a lot, on topics that excite them in order to improve fluency and to stay interested. I try and make my students feel as relaxed as possible so that they will not feel afraid to take risks in speaking, make mistakes and by making mistakes, learn more quickly where their individual strengths and weaknesses are.
