It took me a long time to find my real passion in my (work) life. After studying in two universities, graduating in two bachelors, travelling the world and working abroad for several years I realized public education is where my heart lies. I went for the third time back to university to study Dutch, pedagogy and methodology. For 5 years I have been teaching as a classroom teacher in Dutch primary schools before I moved abroad to Colombia where I became also an English teacher. I am specialized in teaching in pre-, elementary, middle (secondary) and high school. I have been teaching in all different grades and all primary subjects, including Dutch (as this is my native language and of course in schools in the Netherland we teach in Dutch). Hi there I was born in Belgium and Dutch is my native language. I have always been interested in languages, not just using the language correctly but also trying to understand the evolution of the language and comparing different language groups. Although I was educated as an engineer, after the birth of the children and being always on the move, I had to reinvent myself. I started to give language courses. Soon, I found out that I really enjoyed this and that I was actually good at it. I always adapt my lessons to the needs and wishes of the student.

I teach because it is fun. At secondary school, my friends asked me to help them with math and economics. I started teaching Dutch as a student at university. My pupils were usually business school students. Later on, I moved to a different university, in Nijmegen, and taught subjects like environmental economics, history and Dutch language. After finishing another project at the university, I decided to start my own IT company. As a company owner, I do projects for companies all over the world, including the department of Languages and Cultures at the University of London. Currently, I spend approximately half of my time as a language teacher and half of my time as an IT expert. I have also been working as a voluntary language teacher at a local organization in my city, which helps immigrants to start a new life in their new home country.
