Hi! My name is Carmen, and I'm a Spanish teacher. Now the obvious things are out of the way, here are some things you may not know. My name means 'poem' in Latin, and I kind of like that. I was born in Granada, a cute city in the south of Spain where Carmen means 'big house with garden'. There, I graduated in philosophy, and learnt there is a word in my language to name the colour clouds turn at sunset. Amazed by that, I moved to Madrid to study arts and, trying to see as many of those clouds as possible, travelled a lot. I ended up in Boston, Massachusetts, where I became a Spanish teacher so I could discuss the details of that colour with everyone (I should add that we discussed other things, too). I am a Spanish teacher from Colombia with a Bachelor of Sciences in Education: Foreign Language Teaching from the Universidad de Antioquia.
After gaining experience in Medellin, Colombia as an English and French teacher at different Language Teaching centers such as a public school, a private institution, a university and even as a private teacher, I decided to move to France where I worked as a Teacher of Spanish as a foreign language for the French Ministry of National Education for more than a year.

Beyond studies and experience (which you can read below), what makes a good language teacher? I have no doubts: enthusiasm, empathy, patience and sense of humor. Without these four attributes, any robot could be a better teacher than me, am I right?
I studied a master's degree at University of Barcelona in 2013 and another course at International House in 2014 to specialize as a teacher of Spanish as a second language.
My passion for teaching hasn't done anything else but increasing. I love helping people all over the world to learn the language and to understand my culture. But, above all, both the students and me have fun during the lesson. Learning a language is impossible if you don't feel at ease and happy. Laughing is our most valuable tool to learn.
