便利な日本語だけの表現5/ Only Japanese have 5 useful Japanese expressions

1、 渋い
華やかではなく落ち着いた趣など、いい意味での「渋い」という単語。英語ではなかな表現するには難しい単語です。

1, Shibui
This means old school cool. It has a good meaning and is difficult to express with English.


2、積ん読
本や雑誌などの書物を買ったり、借りたりして積み重ねて置いておくだけで少しも読まない事。

2, Tsundoku
The act of buying something and leaving it unread, often piled together with other unread books.


3、よいしょ
重いものを持ち上げる時や、疲れて椅子に座ろうとした時などに意味もなく発する言葉。日本人の誰もが発する言葉だと思います。

3, Yoisho
A word without meaning, it is said when flopping into a chair after a day at work. This is commonly said by many Japanese people.


4、微妙
否定的な気分を遠回しに言う日本独特なスラング。

4, Bimyou
Not bad or “meh”. We say this when we don’t want to say our direct thoughts to the person.


5、引きこもり
長期間にわたり自宅や自室にこもり、社会的な活動に参加しない状態が長く続く事を言う。
この言葉は世界中で問題視されており、実際に英語圏でも使われ始めています。

5, Hikikomori
When a young person who is obsessed with video games, TV and internet, withdraws from society.
