Cześć! Happy New Year!
hace 5 añosThis week I have another news for you from the Polski Daily website!
I know this year is a bit different than all of the previous years and that for sure none of you will go to the New Year’s Eve party, but I thought I’ll tell you a bit about different most popular ways of spending New Years in Poland – normally, not in the corona year! ;)
Teenagers, students – generally speaking youngsters usually go to house parties. Often it’s agreed that every guest brings something to eat, some dish for everyone and their own alcohol, which makes it very rich with food, there is always some dancing and great fun till the early morning, and at the same time it’s not too expensive!
Some people, especially the ones living in big cities choose the city festivities – concerts and firework shows in the main squares. It’s a nice way of spending the New Years, but there are some disadvantages – you have to dress up really warm, usually there is a problem with toilet (meaning there is none) and you can get soaked in champagne at midnight, as some people open the bottles as if they just won Formula 1 and not the New Years!
Of course, there are also many other ways of spending your New Year’s – some go hiking, some decide to stay home and they cook something together with friends, some simply order a pizza and have a marathon of their favourite movies. Some people have no choice, as they have small babies or a dog that’s terrified of firework noises. I think, it’s good to try different ways of celebrating the New Year during your life :) Personally I don’t feel any pressure that this needs to be „the most special and the best night of the year”. Too much pressure is never good, and the most important thing is to relax and have fun! :)
Cheers!
Dominika
