What is your favourite festival?
6 anni faYesterday was the festival of Sant Jordi here in Barcelona. The streets were filled with people buying books and roses. Sant Jordi, also know as Catalonia's Valentines day, is a day where, traditionally, men buy roses for women and women buy books for men. However, as everyone likes books and roses, men and woman now often get both!
I absolutely love this festival! The streets are lined with booksellers and school children selling roses to help pay for their end of year school trips. It was fantastic to see people sitting in the terraces, reading their new books. What a great way to encourage people to read!
