  • Neutral / Latin American (general) — clear, widely understood across Latin America; great if you want broad comprehension and travel-friendly Spanish.
  • Mexican — very widely understood (lots of media), useful for work or travel in Mexico and many parts of the Americas.
  • Colombian (Bogotá) — considered very neutral and clear; excellent for formal speech and learners.
  • Rioplatense (Argentina / Uruguay) — distinctive pronunciation (vos + “sh” sound for ll/y); great if you like Argentine culture.
  • Castilian (Spain) — uses vosotros and the “th” sound (ce/ci as θ); good for travel/studies in Spain or if you want European Spanish.
  • Caribbean (Cuba / Puerto Rico / DR) — fast, relaxed, drops some consonants; useful if you’re into Caribbean culture/music.
  • Chilean — fast and very idiomatic; challenging but fun if you plan to live in Chile.
  • Peruvian / Andean — clear, moderate pace; good if you’ll be in Peru or the Andean region
