Hello. My name is Johnston. I am a native English speaker with a neutral, clear accent originally from the United States. For about 9 years, I have run my own marketing and design consultancy where I have worked alongside a variety of clients from all walks of life and business backgrounds.

My favorite aspect of my job has been teaching clients new ways they can improve their businesses and do their jobs more efficiently. This, in turn, makes them happier and incites passion in their work. It is very rewarding to be a part of the process that helps them achieve their goals and to see them grow professionally and personally.

In addition, I have a Master’s Degree in in Communication as well as an Bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I have three years university teaching experience tutoring in the writing lab helping students with composition, creative writing, essay writing and test preparation.

I am a strong believer in the communicative approach to teaching English with elements of the natural approach. My goal is to continue teaching in a forum where I can share my experiences, expertise and passion with students of different backgrounds and cultures.

Conceptualized and built both long and shortform magazines from scratch including edtiorial direction, design, platform development, and marketing strategy. Developed all internal process including editorial calendar, editorial workflow, and software solutions. Generated story ideas and worked with writers to refine and shape stories. Contacted 300+ writers and contributors aquiring high quality talent with minimal budget. Designed logo, identity, and implemented all editorial layouts and design.

Conceptualized, produced, launched, and directed the arts magazine Odic Force from the ground up including creating name, mission, design philosophy, departments, and shaping all editorial content.
