First and foremost, I love to teach. I came into this profession only 8 years ago, but it is where I am at my best- either in the classroom or online. I was a full-time high school English teacher for 4 years, and this year I am teaching World History. Next year, however, I will be stepping back into the English teacher role to co-teach Humanities and American Studies. I received my International Teaching Certificate from TEFL International Academy last year because I want to teach internationally (either online now or in the near future, and abroad in the distant future). To round out my certificate, I added on certifications for Young Learners, Business English, and Online Teaching.
I received my Teaching Credentials in English and Social Studies (and basic French) from the University of Redlands. I also have my Bachelor and Master degrees in International Studies/Policy from California State University, Chico and the Monterey Institute of International Studies, respectively.
As for my teaching style, I am an organized, fun, engaging teacher who knows how to differentiate and adjust based on my students' needs. I love grammar, writing, conversation, vocabulary/phraseology and idioms. I know how to explain concepts in simple terms, and am diligent in finding ways to help someone learn.
