Hello! I'm Jessica, your new English Teacher : ) I'm from Ohio, in the United States, though I've lived in quite a few places around the world as well. Most recently I taught English to adults in China. Previously, I've worked with international high schoolers and immigrants and refugees in Dayton, Ohio. For the past four years I've worked exclusively with international citizens in both the US and abroad and am excited to continue working with you!

My qualifications include a TEFL Certification, a TESOL Minor and Certification, six months experience teaching adults in Ohio, six months experience tutoring adults in England, and this past year teaching adults in China. Beyond that, I worked with international high school students for a year, making my four years since graduating university exclusively related to international communication.

These are my main goals you'll see in my class:

--To get students communicating in conversational English. Language comes much easier when students are willing to talk regardless of mistakes made.

--To have a fun time while learning, as I believe that we remember so much more when we are interested and engaged. I do this by using interesting and authentic material including current affair articles and videos, song lyrics, games,

--To build verbal English skills that then expand to writing and reading fluency. Reading and writing both build vocabulary and are essential. We will also practice reading aloud our own work and others' to correct pronunciation issues we might have.
