Wer bin ich denn? (WHO AM I?)***(See below for my introduction in English)****** Ich bin Deutschlehrerin, habe Geschichte studiert, komme ursprünglich aus Deutschland und wohne jetzt in den USA. Ich unterrichte Deutsch sehr gern, weil ich gern über Land und Leute rede. Wenn man eine Sprache lernt, muss man sich auch mit der Kultur, der Geschichte und den aktuellen Ereignissen beschäftigen. Das vervollständigt das Studium und bereichert auch das Weltbild.
Ich versuche, die Sitzungen so weit wie möglich zu verändern und anzupassen. Hier sind einige Dinge, die wir tun können:
1. Sprechen Sie über Ihren Tag, einen Film oder ein Thema, das Sie interessiert.
2. Deutsch im Alltag, wie z.B. Bestellung in einem Restaurant, Einkaufen gehen, beim Arzt, ein Hotelzimmer buchen.
3. Deutsch im Beruf, z.B. eine formelle email an einen Mitarbeiter oder Vorgesetzten schreiben, ein geschäftliches Telefongespräch führen.
4. Wiederholen Sie eine Grammatikregel, die Ihnen schwer fällt: Ich erkläre zuerst, und dann üben wir mit Übungen, die ich mache.
5. Was ist gerade in den deutschsprachigen Ländern aktuell? Gern können wir über Politik und Geschichte diskutieren.
Meine Lernmethode basiert auf:
1. In einer Lektion a. besprechen wir einen Text oder ein Video (Das kann ich gern vorher zur Verfügung stellen.), b. geben unsere Meinung c. schreiben eine kurze Antwort, c. erstellen eine Vokabelliste und d. besprechen grammatikalische Besonderheiten.
2. Ich korrigiere Ihre Aussprache, wenn nötig, und gebe Tipps zum Sprachgebrauch.
3. Sagen Sie mir im Vorraus, was Sie machen möchten und ich bereite es vor.
4. Gern gebe ich auch Hausaufgaben, das macht den Unterricht effektiver.

Egal, ob Sie Deutsch für die Arbeit, für ein Diplom, für den Urlaub oder für die Freude an der Sprache benötigen, gern helfe ich Ihnen.

Und jetzt auf English: I am a German teacher, studied history, originally from Germany and am now living in the USA. I love teaching German because I like to talk about countries and people. When you learn a language, you also have to learn about culture, history and current events. This completes your studies and enriches your world view.
I try to change and adapt the sessions as much as possible. Here are some things we can do:
1. Exchange ideas and opinions: Talk about your day, a film or a topic that interests you.
2. German in everyday life, such as ordering in a restaurant, shopping, visiting a doctor, booking a hotel room.
3. German at work, e. g. writing a formal email to an employee or superior, conducting a business telephone conversation.
4. Repeat a grammar rule that is difficult for you: I explain first, and then we practice with exercises that I do.
5. What is currently happening in the German-speaking countries? I am happy to discuss politics and history.
My method of learning is based on:
1. In a lesson a. we will discuss a text or video (I can provide this beforehand.), b. give our opinion c. write a short answer, c. create a vocabulary list and d. discuss grammatical peculiarities.
2. I correct your pronunciation, if necessary, and give tips on the use of the German language.
3. Tell me in advance what you want to do and I'll get it ready.
4. I also give homework, which makes the lessons more effective.

No matter whether you need German for work, for a diploma, for holidays or for the joy of the language, I will be happy to help you.
