♠️TIPS ON IMPROVING YOUR LANGUAGE LEARNING♠️
If you're learning a foreign language, your goal is probably being FLUENT or near-fluent in it.
Language learning comes with challenges as the path to fluency doesn't always seem to be a straight line.
It challenges us to start thinking differently and forcing ourselves to stay out of our COMFORT ZONE.
It can be a very rewarding experience as one progresses in his/her learning with increasing proficiency.
It opens doors to opportunities and possibilities we weren't even aware of before.
This is the most exciting part of language learning.
But First,
Some Important QUESTIONS for you

🔎If you're already learning a language, have you ever asked yourself
Q1: Why did I decide to learn a foreign language?
Q2: What have I tried so far that has worked well and vice versa?

But as soon as we consider the big picture (gaining fluency), many difficult challenges only seem insurmountable at the beginning.

✏️Here are things that I can help you with:
1. Show you the right tools for practicing Korean or English.
-There are so many books, courses, programs, and apps.
-My job is to help you select right tools and help you design your study routine or process that is designed to help you save you time and money.
-But also will help you ease the suffering that stems from the feelings of wondering what to study next
or
being stuck in one place without making much progress for an extended period of time.
2. Help you design your study routine (if you don't have have one already)
- Random, unstructured plan rarely goes far. even thought (real conversations can seem random at times.)
- In order to focus your energy and efforts, it's important to create a plan. (You wouldn't start a journey without a map, would you?)
- A good plan is not static but must be dynamic and fluid. It's like a evolution. Every time you reach a certain milestone, it'll be a good time to reconsider where we focus our attention and energy.
3. Compliment your learning material by giving you practical information on how people really communicate in Korean or English.
- Often the way people communicate in real life can differ from what we learn from books, courses, programs, etc.
- While it's necessary to study grammar, much frustration can come from not having spent enough time communicating the way native speakers do each other.
4. Help You Stay Acccountable for Your Homework, and Review.
- We will check your assignments and homework at the beginning of each lesson.
5. Help you find potential native language partners to help you practice communicating.
- I have a small language learning community that started as a pet project . (We also need your participation in order to grow the community.)
- The purpose of the community is to create an efficient environment for language practice in many popular foreign languages.
6. Help you overcome your psychological block in language learning.
- Language learning is also an exercise in character-building.
- Trusting one's ability to stay on the path toward fluency is very important as well as letting go of negative past experience (embarassement, failure, mistakes, etc)
7. Help you track your progress with a journal (or a workbook) , so you won't ever have to wonder if you're making progress or not.
- The purpose of journaling our progress is to bring awareness to your learning.
- As you review your journal you will figure out:
1.What works well for you and not
2.What is difficult
3.What mistakes you keep making repeatedly

1.(IMPORTANT): If you book a lesson with me, I normally expect you to have some basic understanding of Korean (Hangul, few basic verbs & phrases would be enough)
2. MAXIMIZE Your Exposure to Your Target Language: Always look for an opportunity to practice and gain experience.
3. CONNECT with other students learning the same language(s) and native speakers.
4.JOURNAL your progress for record keeping of your progress with CLARITY and ACCOUNTABILITY.
5.ACTIVE LEARNING: Get in the habit of actively engaging during lessons by writing things down and asking questions.

📢IMPORTANT Admin Stuff:
*Should you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please contact me or reschedule on Verbling at least 12 hours in advance. (I also abide by this rule if I have to reschedule.)
*Cancelling within the last 12 hours results in an automatic payment of 50% of the lesson fee.
*Please note that if a student is absent for a lesson, 50% of lesson fee will still be charged by default. (I will wait for 15minutes before I mark the lesson absent)
*Please ensure that you have a good, reliable internet connection and audio/visual setup.
*If this is your first lesson, I recommend taking a 1hr lesson instead of a 30min trial lesson as the first lesson usually requires 1hr of helping students plan their study routine.

- Fully bilingual in English and Korean (I teach both languages)
- Semi-fluent in French, conversational in Spanish
