Hello Verbling community!

My name is Scott. I started teaching ESL after college on a whim. As it turns out, I loved it! After getting my certification, I have never looked back. I have taught online with a prominent company, however there was not much room for creativity in the lesson plans. I found that the lessons that I was able to control more fully were much more enjoyable for me and my students.

I have experience teaching a wide variety of students of all skill levels. I have taught beginners and intermediate students all the way up to advanced students that are preparing for the TOEFL. My students have ranged from business people wanting to further their careers to mothers who want to help their children with their studies.

I believe that learning should be fun. I like to incorporate that into my classroom. Enjoying a class is very conducive to learning. I like my students to relax, tell jokes and funny stories! This not only helps the learning process, but it also facilitates the exchange of culture that is so important about learning a new language.
