I am a professional, certified English teacher with a passion and enthusiasm for the English language.
In college, I studied English literature with an emphasis on Writing, Rhetoric and Culture--the ways we use English to experience and understand the world. After graduation, I received the CELTA certification in teaching English as a foreign language.
I am from the United States, but I currently live in Montevideo, Uruguay, where I work for a government program--Ceibal--that focuses on technology literacy. Through videoconferencing, I teach 23 classrooms of public school children every week. I also teach weekly Grammar for English Teachers classes and business English classes in addition to private conversation classes.
I specialize in exam preparation, especially IELTS, TOEFL, the Cambridge First Certificate and Proficiency, and the SAT; I'm also trained in the verbal sections of the GRE and GMAT (I got a perfect score in verbal on the GRE). I also have lots of experience teaching pronunciation and accent training.
