I'm a certified CRKBO(Central Register Short Professional Education) teacher. I'm a native speaker, and have been teaching Dutch for 14 years.
I have worked for several Dutch language training schools like Elycio Talen, Taleninstituut and Easy Dutch with students from all over the world.
My methods: I always try to first focus on the pronunciation and work our way up from there, because I think that you can't build a good house without a steady foundation.. Of course I always emphasise talking in my lessons, because it's only through using the language, that you will truly improve. I try to get my students as close to the native accent as possible, while giving them extensive explanation about the grammar or even doing some grammar drills, if necessary.

It took me a long time to find my real passion in my (work) life. After studying in two universities, graduating in two bachelors, travelling the world and working abroad for several years I realized public education is where my heart lies. I went for the third time back to university to study Dutch, pedagogy and methodology.
For 5 years I have been teaching as a classroom teacher in Dutch primary schools before I moved abroad to Colombia where I became also an English teacher. I teach because it is fun. At secondary school, my friends asked me to help them with math and economics. I started teaching Dutch as a student at university. My pupils were usually business school students. Later on, I moved to a different university, in Nijmegen, and taught subjects like environmental economics, history and Dutch language. After finishing another project at the university, I decided to start my own IT company. As a company owner, I do projects for companies all over the world, including the department of Languages and Cultures at the University of London. Currently, I spend approximately half of my time as a language teacher and half of my time as an IT expert. I have also been working as a voluntary language teacher at a local organization in my city, which helps immigrants to start a new life in their new home country.
