Unsurprisingly, in order to get better at speaking English, you actually have to speak English. I'm mostly a fun, friendly conversation partner throughout the lesson; however, at times I will explain things as a tutor normally would about how to better say what you are trying to say. Most of my clients, who are preparing for interviews, or have similar short term goals, usually feel more confident and have achieved their goals after taking 10 lessons. Some of my clients like to book on a regular basis to maintain their confidence and to work on long term learning goals like increased fluency and accent reduction. I have a lot of experience teaching clients from China, Taiwan, Russia, Korea, Vietnam, Brazil, Spain, and Italy. About me: I love languages, culture, and geography. I live with my girlfriend and her 9 year old daughter near the beach in Florida.

Background: I’m a qualified English teacher with 7 years of experience in higher education. I’m highly educated in the field of languages and hold a BA Degree in Language and Culture, a BA(hons) Degree in French, a CELTA, and an MA in French. After my studies in South Africa, I moved to France where I taught English in both secondary and tertiary institutions. I’ve taught general, as well as specialised English: business, aviation, engineering, physics, chemistry and medicine. I’m currently a Learning Designer and work with top universities to design and produce online courses. How I approach my lessons: During the first lesson, I ask students to fill out a questionnaire which allows me to establish the strengths and weaknesses of the student as it pertains to English. I follow this up with a report and a “curriculum” designed according to the student’s areas of improvement. Lessons will be conducted accordingly. My areas of expertise: I specialise in English grammar and writing,...
