My name is Andrew Juarez and I'm excited to introduce myself to all of you. I got my start in 2011 in Bogotá, Colombia, where I also received a CELTA teaching credential. Since then, I have taught in beautiful San Francisco, and in Barcelona. I have over 8 years experience teaching English in a large classroom setting of as many as 20 people, in addition to numerous 1-to-1 and small group private lessons. I have also proctored and helped students to prepare for the Test of English for Aviation (TEA), and have experience leading classes to prepare for the TOEFL and the Cambridge First and Advanced exam. My mother tongue is American English, with a firm understanding of and fluency in Spanish.
My approach to my lesson plans is to incorporate real-life situations in order to provide context for any number of skills I set out to realize that day with my students. Communication between both the instructor and among the students is crucial for both practicing and understanding the target language at hand.
In the end, I find success in what I do when students demonstrably grasp the material and are having fun doing so.
I look forward to meeting you!
