Any living language is constantly evolving, changing, adding new words, and dropping old rules. Not long ago, splitting infinitives was taboo. Today it's acceptable. So to me, learning a language has to be grounded in both an understanding of the rules as well as an embrace of flexibility that reflects the dynamic nature of language. In my approach, I focus as much on the concepts of everyday expression and effective conversation as I do on the rules of grammar and syntax that are the foundations of language. I also like to be flexible in the structure of learning, allowing sessions to go where students find the greatest value, and adapting to what they want to learn and understand. I am a certified TEFL instructor and I have taught in Naples and Florence, Italy. I am also a diehard Cleveland, Ohio sports fan. Which, if you're familiar with the history of Cleveland sports, also requires me to be flexible.
