Bonjour ! Hello everybody!
Je m'appelle Caroline. I'm a fully qualified native French Teacher, currently living in Ireland, but I'm originally from Paris. I hold a Masters Degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, and since I started teaching in 2010, I have been teaching students aged from 3 to 75 years old, from all over the world, in Ireland and in France! I have set up my own language school in 2016, where I teach children, teenagers and adults.
I am also a DELF examiner, so I can definitely help you prepare your DELF-DALF Exams.
My students often describe me as positive, motivated, imaginative, fun, dynamic… I truly believe that you learn better when you're having fun, so don't be surprised if we learn a bit of grammar playing Battleship, or matching cards: I promise you, you'll be learning the tricky bits of French without realising it!
I use a very interactive approach, that focuses on speaking in everyday situations (ordering in a restaurant, asking for directions, shopping, talking about yourself, your family etc…). Along with this practical objective, you will work on grammar and vocabulary: you won't be learning “pre-made” sentences, like you would find in a touristic guidebook. I truly want you to be able to build your own sentences, so that, with time, you can say anything you want in French! Using articles, videos, and authentic material, I'll be trying to recreate a French environment, and of course, give a lot of cultural fun facts! My focus is on conversational skills, but of course, if you want to learn French for specific reasons (career etc...), I will adapt this according to your needs.
Prior to our first class, I will be sending you an online assessment test, to get a first idea of what your level is, and so that we don't waste time on our first lesson together. During the free first lesson, I will get to know your tastes, your oral level, and your needs, so we can plan the next lessons according to the objectives you have.
Above all, I am passionate about my job, and am looking forward to share my language and culture with you !
