Hello! My name is Emily and I am a 22 year old American college student currently studying French at the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland! I love teaching language. At my home university, Rhode Island College, I worked as a french tutor for my peers. I also volunteered at The International House, a non-profit run by Brown University, where I helped people of all ages from all over the world improve their conversational English skills. I have also volunteered creating and teaching french lesson plans for a preschool. I was a reading tutor for an underprivileged elementary school in Providence, Rhode Island, and worked the administrative side of a bilingual french/english school in that city as well. I have a passion for teaching language and I hope to become a high school french teacher when I graduate! I believe a challenge in learning languages is being afraid to make mistakes. Therefore, when I'm teaching, I never discourage students after they have made mistakes, as they are inevitable. I believe the best qualities a teacher can have are patience, encouragement, and positivity! Aside from this hobby, I enjoy traveling, going to the movies, and spending time with my cats.
