My name is Keira, I'm from the UK and I am currently living in Chile. I love learning new languages, and sharing this experience with others. As I was brought up in an English only speaking household, I understand the difficulties of beginning to learn a new language.
I have up to three years of teaching experience. During my degree I regularly volunteered to work at Bethnal Green Academy helping students with their Spanish oral skills. I also gained a year of teaching experience when I worked in central Chile during my year abroad teaching English to university students. I taught classes of 12 students, each class being half an hour long. During this time I also privately tutored various adult students.
My last teaching experience was during my time living in China where I taught classes of up to 80 students per class English. Students were aged 18+ and my time there involved teaching beginner/intermediate to my regular classes, and tutoring privately the top students that wished to study abroad and to prepare them for entrance exams (preparing them for advanced level exams).
My approach to teaching is perfect for those who also have a keen interest for learning about culture as well as the English/Spanish language. Using the 4 basic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing, I like to help my student gain confidence in their abilities by adapting my the lessons to fit to not just their level of proficiency, but also adapting to their interests.
