¡Hola! Espero que hayan tenido un día grandioso. My name is Isabel Alzate and I am from Colombia. I have been teaching English and Spanish for 2 years at a school in Medellin as well as in informal contexts to foreign people. During the last year, I studied a Diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language because I love to teach my native language. As Nelson Mandela claims “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”. I love to learn about and teach my own language and I expect to guide you in this passionate process of learning Spanish.
My teaching style depends on your interests and needs. I will design a personalized class with multimodal resources that guide you to achieve your goals. However, I identify myself with the communicative approach which leads to develop the 4 main skills: speaking, reading, listening and writing though the use of Spanish. It means that for me the focus is not grammar, although is a necessary resource, but to be able to communicate with others in the foreign language. Therefore, I will use authentic material of interesting topics to lead you in this amazing journey of learning Spanish in a way that you enjoy and learn at the same time.
¡Espero verlos muy pronto en las clases!
