Hello there, I'm Olivia. It's nice to meet you!
I'm a writer from Minnesota, USA. I speak English as my native language, and Spanish at an intermediate (B1) level. I earned my TEFL certification from Trinity College London last year, and have been teaching ESL both in-person and online ever since. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Writing Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Studies from the University of Minnesota Duluth. I'm also a published writer and experienced copyeditor. I lived in Barcelona, Spain as an expatriate for seven months, so I'm quite familiar with how intimidating it is to learn a new language!
I offer lessons in conversation, reading and writing, pronunciation, vocabulary, test preparation (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, KET, FCE, CAE, PET, and CPE), cover letters for university applications, interview preparation, email etiquette, general editing services, and proofreading, and more. I provide academic support for students currently attending university and am able to change the format of lessons to fit each student's specific needs. Depending on the difficulty of content, I can use my intermediate level of Spanish to help translate between Spanish and English too!
If desired, I will provide each student with a personalized document highlighting pronunciation practice, grammar points, new vocabulary, and homework. I'm a great listener and will provide all the tools necessary for the student's success in their English skills.
I speak with a clear, neutral North American accent.
I'm inclusive of everyone, no matter their culture, religion, nationality, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
My lessons are a safe, judgment-free space. It's my goal to support my students in learning English at their own pace and helping them achieve a new goal with every class.
I look forward to meeting you!
