Hello! My name is Gabriela Santillán but people usually just call me Gaby. I grew up and currently live in Catamarca, Argentina. I've been formed as a spanish teacher at the National University of Catamarca, later I´ve specialized in teaching spanish to foreigners at the National University of Buenos Aires.
I’ve taught Spanish to people from all over the world - Germany, Brasil, Israel, France, USA, and Canada. Most classes have been part of a ‘Spanish Express’ program, focusing on basics for travelers in spanish-speaking countries (eg. introductions, greetings, shopping, directions) . Other classes I’ve taught have been customized according to ability of the student and have included online lessons.
I also look to promote literature for all ages with my group "Alas de colibrí" via musical and acted performances.
Communication is the main focus of my classes, with grammar playing a supporting role. However, as I’m interested in helping students achieve both a practical and theoretical level I will gladly address any questions the student has — all lessons are based on individual needs and interests.
I speak clearly, and am very patient. I find the use of the four skills, such as writing, to be helpful. Additionally, I offer assignments or games to make learning more engaging when appropriate.
I like to travel, read (novels and philosophy), practice Kundalini yoga, and study languages. I’m at an intermediate level of English and have a basic knowledge of Portuguese and Italian.
Let’s explore the world together through Spanish!
