I am a professional ESL teacher with 8 years of experience working in the Japanese public and private schools. I have also worked with companies such as TPEC (Toyota), teaching business English to adults. I have certifications in TEFL, TEYL, and teaching experience in TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, and EIKEN.
I love learning and I embrace when the opportunities present themselves. My outlook on life is that nothing is constant, the only constant that exists is growth. I believe each individual has a learning style unique to them and my approach is to cater to each person's needs. Myself being a language learner; I understand the difficulties a person faces when learning a new language, and I truly believe contextual learning is most beneficial. Depending on the level, age, learning style, and goals of the student, the curriculum chosen will vary. I believe in a hands-on approach though, with more contextual usage than grammar.
I refer to myself as an adventurous and naturally curious individual.
My hobbies include perusing various topics, mostly by reading books and articles or peer-reviewed journals, my favourites being National Geographic, and Psychology Today, listening to BBC and podcasts related to self-development, such as finance, language enhancement or learning, health, and environmental issues, teaching myself new things- currently learning the Bulgarian language, and photography. I also love Japanese food and karaoke.
