今日は「目」を使った慣用句を5つ紹介します。





今日紹介する5つの慣用句はこちらです。

1) 見る目がある
2) 長い目で見る
3) 目が高い
4) 目にする
5) 目をつぶる

知っているものはありましたか。
それでは早速ひとつめの「見る目がある」の意味と例文を見ていきましょう。
意味は、「物事を正しく評価する能力がある」です。

たとえば、いいか悪いか、本当か嘘か、美しいか醜いかを見分ける能力があるということです。
ですからここでの「目」は「能力」という意味で使われています。

では例文を見てみましょう。
例)彼は人を見る目があるので、いつもいいともだちに囲まれている。

  彼女は男を見る目がないので、いつもひどい恋人とつきあっている。

  友達は美術を専攻していたので、絵が上手なだけでなく絵を見る目がある。


それでは二つ目の慣用句です。
「長い目で見る」。
意味は、「今だけのことで判断しないで、ゆっくりと将来のことも考えて期待しながら見守る」です。
それでは、例文を見ていきましょう。

例)彼はまだ小学生だから、将来何になりたいのかは長い目でみてあげよう。
  
  長い目で見たら、マンションを借りるより買ったほうが経済的かもしれない。
  
  まだ日本語の勉強は難しいけれど、長い目で見てみたらいい自己投資になるはずだ。


それでは3つ目の慣用句です。
「目が高い」。
この意味は「良いものを見分ける能力がある」です。
一つ目の「見る目がある」と似ていますね。
「見る目がある」の反対は「見る目がない」と言うんですが、
「目が高い」に対して「目が低い」は使いません。
気を付けてくださいね。
それでは例文を見ていきましょう。

例)彼は目が高くてたくさんの物から価値があるものを見つけられる。
  
  さすが!これが有名な作品だと気がつくとは、お目が高い。 
  
  目が高い友人と買い物に出かけると無駄なものを買わなくなるのでいい。

そして4つ目の慣用句です。
「目にする」。
意味は「実際に見る」です。
早速例文を見ていきましょう。

例)本物の富士山を目にして、とても感動した。
  
  街でスマホを片手に歩いている人をよく目にする。
  
  道が渋滞しているのを目にして、地下鉄で移動することにした。

5つ目の慣用句は「目をつぶる」です。
目をつぶるには慣用句以外にも意味がありますよ。
「目を閉じる」と言う意味と「死ぬ」という意味です。
慣用句で使うときは、
「悪いところや失敗などを責めない。知らないことにする」という意味です。例文を見ていきましょう。

例)子供や部下を育てるときは、
  小さな失敗には目をつぶって、できるだけ誉めるようにしている。
  
  注文が間違っていたけれど、目をつぶって何も言わないことにした。
  
  すみません。今日の間違いには目をつぶってもらえませんか。
