The Letter Challenge returns....after a long hiatus...We continue with the letter "G".

A few days ago I was talking with a student about New Yearโ€™s Resolutions. We were quite positive about what we were going to achieve in 2019. One of her ideas was to try new things for each letter of the alphabet, so I thought I would take that idea and apply it to language learning. I will be posting an idiom and a vocabulary word for each letter of the alphabet.

Idiom


Give the benefit of the doubt Believe someone's statement, without proof.

Example:
I don't believe that he didn't take the money, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt until I can prove otherwise.

Vocabulary


Galvanise Verb. stimulate to action
Example:
The speaker was so stimulating that he galvanised the crowd.
