I was born and raised in Belgium, so my native language is Dutch (Flemish). I am also very familiar with Dutch from the Netherlands since I used to live 12 years in Amsterdam.
I have lived, studied, and worked in several wonderful places around the world. As a cultural and social anthropologist, I am very passionate about learning and teaching languages and discovering different cultures.

Hi there
I was born in Belgium and Dutch is my native language.
I have always been interested in languages, not just using the language correctly but also trying to understand the evolution of the language and comparing different language groups. Although I was educated as an engineer, after the birth of the children and being always on the move, I had to reinvent myself. I started to give language courses.
Soon, I found out that I really enjoyed this and that I was actually good at it.
I always adapt my lessons to the needs and wishes of the student.

Hi! My name is Rignald and I am an online Dutch teacher. I am a Dutch native speaker currently living in Florence, Italy. I have a Master of Arts in Languages and Linguistics from the University of Amsterdam. Learning foreign languages has always been my biggest passion. I have been teaching online for the past seven years for several language schools using different teaching platforms. I have had students from all over the world with different starting levels and objectives. My teaching approach, which is fully tailored based on the student's level and needs, is comparable to that of a child learning how to speak, meaning that the student learns grammatical rules by reading simple texts. Oral exercises play a key role during my lessons as they allow the student to achieve the correct pronunciation, and, as a consequence, to comprehend the spoken language faster.

Hello, after graduating I decided to see the world. I travelled and worked my way around the globe for 15 years, but that all came to an end in 2015 when I fell in love with the sweet Mexican girl. I moved to Mexico, became a teacher and discovered that I love teaching. Besides teaching 2000 online classes, I also have years of experience of teaching in schools and I have been trained in teaching NT2 by the university of Leuven.
I adjust my classes to the needs of my students. For beginners, I use a structured approach with a emphasis on speaking and communication. But if you are preparing for an exam, job interview or are mainly interested in improving your communication skills, the classes will take on a very different form.
