I have experience teaching German and English to German natives and to foreigners. I also have experience writing and editing texts for publication, and I have corrected many texts written by non-native German speakers on a different language learning website. I can speak English fluently, so I am able to explain finer points of German in that language as well.
I have worked with children deemed "difficult" by others, but I have learned that those labels do not matter and instead try to keep an open mind with every new student and try to help them in their unique situation. I am supportive and easy-going. I am flexible in the way I correct (few or many corrections) and the topics we talk about. I am a fulltime professional teacher for German as a foreign language for over 7 years and also have a background in teaching and design. I create my materials in InDesign and use my recording equipment to record listening materials in Audition for Memrise. I'm a fan of games (PC, Dungeons & Dragons, Switch), languages, history, science and art and all sorts of media, including books and movies.

I am a certified TestDaF and telc examiner. I specialise in test preparation (Goethe-Zertifikat, TestDaF, telc, ÖSD, fide, etc.).
I offer both general German language lessons and specific courses of grammar, conversation, writing, test preparation and interview preparation. My focus is on intermediate and advanced German learners, who need a higher level of accuracy and fluency in terms of exposition, argumentation and self-expression.
I have been teaching German online since 2016. Prior to that, I taught at one of the leading language schools in Berlin for over six years. I hold a Magister (German equivalent to the master's degree) in German history and literature from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2001) and a certificate of teaching German as a foreign language from Goethe-Institut, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (2010). Before becoming a language teacher, I was a journalist for six years at a local newspaper in Potsdam.

If you wish to take exams, I can train you as I am a licensed examiner for several German exams up to level B2 (telc). My teaching method is very personal and individually-tailored. I have often taught medical staff, such as MDs, and have a licence in teaching German for medical professionals. My long years of living abroad in Europe and Asia and the many contacts with people from different nationalities and backgrounds are a very good prerequisite for teaching German.
